Contact's Customer Panel
Terms & Conditions

The Contact Customer Panel (the Panel) is operated by The Thinking Studio Limited (trading as, and referred to from here as, Yabble) on behalf of Contact Energy Limited (Contact).

The Panel is an invitation only membership for current Contact customers who are invited to participate in the Panel who are aged 18 years or over and who are New Zealand residents. Members of the Panel will be invited to participate in surveys and other research activities. Panel members who participate in these surveys and other research activities may be included in a relevant prize draw as a reward for their time and information provided.

Contact reserves the right to vary anything about the Panel, including these terms and conditions, surveys and prize draws, at its sole discretion and without notice. Where the variation directly affects you, Contact will advise you of the change.

Conditions of Membership

Membership is conditional upon acceptance of you as a Panel member by Contact, at its sole discretion, and your compliance with these terms and conditions. Contact reserves the right to terminate the membership of any Panel member who is in breach of the following conditions, or for any breach of these terms and conditions:

  • A Panel member may only apply for one Panel membership and must be a current Contact customer to remain on the panel. For the avoidance of doubt, if you cease to be a customer of Contact, your membership to the Panel will automatically cease as well.
  • A Panel member must not join or use the Panel on behalf of another individual.
  • A Panel member must be contactable by email or phone, and reasonably attempt to complete a survey within a 12 month period to remain an active Panel member.

For any other reason deemed appropriate in the circumstances in the reasonable opinion of Contact, for example, where you breach the Contact general terms and conditions.

Prize Draws


By participating in a survey or other research activity that includes a prize draw, you agree to have your name published via email to other Panel members in the case that you are a winner. Only first names and region would be published.

To be eligible for the prize draws you must have satisfactorily completed a survey or other research activity that is connected to a prize draw. The draw will take place at Yabble’s offices (on behalf of Contact) at the end of each survey and the winner will be contacted by Yabble.

Employees or immediate family members or flatmates of employees of Yabble, Contact, and their agencies will not be eligible for the prize draw. Winners will be notified, and prizes will be awarded in the form of a Prezzy card, voucher, or other prize as stated by Contact or Yabble as applying to the relevant survey or other research activity.

If a prize is unavailable, despite Contact’s reasonable endeavours to procure it, Contact reserves the right to substitute the prize with a different prize of equal or lesser value.

All prizes must be claimed by the relevant winning Panel member within 2 months of the original notification being sent by Yabble. In the event that any prize remains unclaimed after that time, the relevant prize will be forfeited.

Some prize draws will have their own terms and conditions that you will agree to by participating in the prize draw. These will be stated in the relevant email sent to you.

Opting Out
You can leave the Panel at any time by sending an email to customerfeedback@research.contact.co.nz requesting to leave the Panel, or by following the link to unsubscribe that will be present in every email sent to you as a member of the Panel.

Analytics

Yabble use Google Analytics to analyse the use of the Panel website. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about our websites use by means of cookies, which are stored on users’ computers. The information generated relating to our website is used to create reports about the use of the website. Google will store this information. These terms and conditions should be read in conjunction with the Panel specific privacy policy.

General

Neither Contact nor Yabble will not be responsible for any late, lost, or misdirected entries, including but not limited to entries not received due to technical problems. 

Contact, Yabble, and their related companies, employees, and agencies shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or personal injury suffered by any person arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with participating in any survey or research activity or claiming/winning any prize, or availing themselves of any prize, except as required by law.

Neither Contact nor Yabble are not responsible for the transmission or receipt of any incorrect information associated with entries, either caused by user error or any equipment or programming malfunction.

Contact and Yabble reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry or refuse to award any prize where false or misleading details have been given by a Panel member, or an entrant has behaved in a fraudulent or dishonest manner, or otherwise than in accordance with these terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
